DAEWOO KALOS

Post by almeister7 »

Hi guys and girls from downunder. There seems to be a lot of mixed information on different forums around the globe to what fits and what doesnt into a Kalos. I currently have a 1.5 SOHC Kalos with approx 64kw. I have derestricted the airbox and removed the original restrictive muffler. It may make 65-66Kw now :-). My question is am I able to swap a larger motor from the Daewoo/Holden/Chevrolet family without too much hassle ie wiring loom, ecu etc etc? I dont want to turbocharge or supercharge as I want the engine bay to look stock. I have read on here that the 2 litre SOHC engine from the Espero/Leganza is a straight swap. Has anyone done this successfully as I would like the 100kw but not have to swap gear boxes etc etc. Do they bolt straight up. Any information would be appreciated, regards Alan

The C20GET is a 2.0L SOHC with a turbo and it bolted in without issue.... so I'd assume that there would not be a problem with the 2.0L N/A engine

The mount that was used was from the 2.0L 16V mount ( center mount )

The wiring may be a bit of work (as it is in nearly all swaps) but I really don't know what ECU your Kalos has.

Here the Kalos came with the 1.6L DOHC using a Delphi engine managment.

Some pictures of your Kalos engine bay would be nice..... including the main engine mount.

The ECU on the Aveo is usually on the back firewall....... if your's is at that location as well can you take a picture?
