Ethanol Blended Fuel - What Precaution should one care for??

Post by goldiegill »

Hi,
I have Nexia 1.5 DOHC which is year 2000 Make and have about 70000 Miles on the meter. In the year 2000, there was no blended fuel available in my country. But now days, we use E5 Brand (5% Ethanol Blended Fuel), which I understand shall be converted to E10 (10% Ethanol Blended) by next year.

How shall this effect my car??? Specially my car rubber and aluminium parts.

The effect of E5 was only felt on a small rubber pipe (about 3 inches long) from Fuel Pump to the Steel Pipe which take the fuel to injectors through the fuel filter. That small pipe gave away last month. Though I have replaced the same, but I fear that E10 shall damage more parts.

However, the newer versions of cars in my country are E10 ready. What can I do to make my car E10 ready??? Please help.
