Lacetti / Optra / Forenza brakes
Well I've had my Optra 5 for all of one day and I've allredy taken a number of things apart to take measurements and pictures.
First thing is the brake system....
Stock Alloy Wheels: 15" X 6" width
Stock Tires: 195/55R15
Wheel and tire weight (with air) : 16kg = 35.3 lbs
Bolt Pattern : 4 X 114.3mm
Stock Offset: 44mm
Lug bolts: 12mm X 1.5mm pitch X 28.5mm length
Lug nuts : conical seat pattern
Central Hub diameter: 56.5mm
Front Brakes Vented Rotors
Diameter: 256mm
Thickness: 24mm
Caliper mount bolts: 140mm
Rear Brakes: Solid Rotors
Diameter: 258mm
Thickness: 10.6mm

Re: Lacetti / Optra / Forenza brakes
Hi,
I have been searching for this Optra front brake spec for quite sometimes.
My project is to convert the 256mm stock front brake discs to a 312mm brake discs with brembo calipers.
I need assistance on the following;
Do you know what is the measurement between the 2 mounting holes for the calipers bracket on the hub?
Looking for caliper bracket now.
Has anyone modify their wheel size to 17" with 205/45/17 tyres?

Wow... that's an old post.... I belive the "Caliper mount bolts: 140mm" is the information your looking for but I can't be sure at this point five years later.
You should talk to Kinkyllama ( Kinkymotorsports ) .... he has a Willwood brake kit for the Optra and would be able to tell you the information you seek.
He's not on much anymore (not sure why) but perhaps you might get lucky if you email him

Thanks for the reply.
Now at least I knew the measurement between the caliper mounting, however do you happen to know the measurement on the hub (where the caliper mounting bracket attached to it).

Re: Lacetti / Optra / Forenza brakes
Perhaps I'm confused.... but the Caliper bolts I mentioned are on the hub and are the same place as where a Caliper mounting bracket would be attached for an aftermarket caliper.

I guessed I am the one who is confused. The measurement you gave is what I am looking for.....Thank you.PrecisionBoost wrote:Perhaps I'm confused.... but the Caliper bolts I mentioned are on the hub and are the same place as where a Caliper mounting bracket would be attached for an aftermarket caliper.
However like you said that was 5 years ago.
Not sure whether year 2006 Chevrolet Optra 1.6 still using this measurement or already gone through some upgrading.
My current discs is 256mm anyway.
One more thing, trying to contact kinkyllama, but till today no reply.
If you happen to know my ride measurement, please.....please.....please.....inform me. Tks.

Re: Lacetti / Optra / Forenza brakes
I'd measure it for you.... but I sold the car a few months back.
It's not too hard to do yourself... turn the wheel so the caliper is pushed out away from the car, loosen four wheel nuts (just a bit)... jack up the car, remove nuts and then tire, measure the distance between the two bolts that hold the caliper to the hub.
Shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes to confirm the data I gave you.
I usually like to use calipers..... but other methods will work just as well.

Takes a long time to confirm the measurement.
Yah, PrecisionBoost,
I had confirmed that my Optra measurement, 140mm to wheel hub.
Now I need to find a bracket that with these measurement:
140mm for attaching to the wheel hub
130mm to the brembo calipers
Its really hard to get it in Singapore.
