Nubira front lower control arm bushings

OK, I have finally had enough of the darting and diving caused by the worn out bushings. Whose changed them (or the complete control arms)? Any special tricks to speed the job? Where did you buy your parts? Feed me knowledge.

no special tricks... if you are going to change bushings you will need a press, control arm replacment is expensive but saves a ton of time and effort.

Yes, replacing the arms is more but as you said the time involved would be much less. Has anyone dealt with this place?

For only $80 each, I think going through the trouble of replacing the bushings is not worth the time. Plus the arms have the ball joints as well.

I just replaced mine. The front bushes are replaceable but the rears are not. depending the model. check with GM, As they were a real help for me locateing all bishes in the whole suspension with me.
Mine is a 97 sedan. I needed to replace the whole arm, which in hine sight isn't that bad when you get all new bushes and ball joint and arm.

the rear bolt you need to be patient with to get back in as if you cross thread will make your life hell, as you will have to cut the floor open to get to it.
I had no drama's with mine, excpet getting the old one out, liitle be-fraggled those bushes were.

Now that I am about to do this, I have been told that I should get new bushing SLEEVES as well. They supposedly rust/seize/deteriorate and I should have new ones in hand before starting. Any comments on, and sources for these?

if bushing sleeves are the ones that si in the ball joint, that the bolt feeds through. the arms should already have them. the arms should, be a ready replacement and have everything ready to go.

Can't seem to find the time to do this so I had the Suzuki dealer do it instead. $399 out the door for new complete control arms. I kept the old control arms to share pics of them with you all. Almost comical. Go here to have a laugh:

I got that lift (after about three years of hemming and hawing) in 2004. I wish I'd bought it sooner. After a little fiddling to get the bike and brackets set, the process becomes second nature. I love it. Imagine only the engine on the lift (from the picture of my bike you posted) and that is almost how far I had it last winter.
