Fuse

Post by Dillon »

I have installed a exhaust temp gauge and i have wired the light for it into my dimmer switch. But the fuse for the switch keeps blowing, is there any way i could put a bigger fuse in it so that it would quit blowing? Or should i find another way to hook up the light. Also im going to be installing a 3 1/4" tach and i would like to wire it to the dimmer switch as well so that when i turn on my lights all my gauges will turn on will this be possible?

Thanks

If you're using an existing fused circuit I imagine you'll need to replace the current fuse with a bigger rated one?

i would play with something else besides putting 2 things up to it. take and run a switch with a inline fuse for the 2 guages and tap into the fusebox power supply.

I wouldn't do that. It's rated at certain amp for a reason. You could possibly fry your instrument lighting this way.

I would just run another power wire for it.

your best bet will be to hook up a relay, if you go with a bigger fuse you dont only run the risk of frying your inst. pannel, you run the risk of burning your car down, that dont sound too fun to me
