Parts from Precision Boost
I'm trying to think of the best way to market Daewoo parts as most of the owners looking for performance parts have very little "disposable income"
Which is to say that most guys can buy $50 to $100 items but they have a hard time saving up $2000 for a turbo kit.
If I did get into this my thought is to approach it differently than 360 Dynamics.
What I'd like to propose is a series of "group buys" where specific parts are purchased in larger quantities.
Then I would offer financing for those who don't have the cash.
For example..... let's say I wanted to do a Lanos/Aveo cam purchase but the cam set was $600 (just a guess)
Lets say 10 people signed up for that group buy.
I would then go out and purchase 10 cams.
Say 4 people paid for them outright and 6 did it through financing.
Basicly... the financing guys would pay $55 a month for 12 months and they would recieve their cam at the end of the last payment.
The term could be what ever the guys want..... pay it off in 2 months or 24 months..... the cam would be purchased and sitting on the shelf awaiting payment.
Basicly the financing would probalby be in around 10% to 15% so it's cheaper than a credit card and guys would save on the cost of the item because it was purchased in large quantities.
The only drawback is that you wouldn't get the part until it's paid off.... where as a credit card payment will get you the part right away.
I'm not out to make much money on this stuff.... so hopefully the pricing will be cheap.
Odds are I will be looking for someone in the USA to accept the shipments for items which are purchased outright to keep shipping and customs costs down.
So in this last example.... 10 cam shaft sets would go to my USA contact.... he would ship the cams to the 4 people that paid for them and keep the 6 cams in stock until I recieve payment.
If someone was paying for a cam and all of a sudden sold their car and wanted to cancel the purhase they would recieve money back.
For example.... $55 per month for 12 months for the Cam...... they would recieve $45 back for each month they paid ( $5 for the 10% financing and $5 for a 10% restocking charge )
If I have to keep the cam.... then the restocking charge pays for the cost of the cam (@10%) for one year..... which should allow for enough time to sell the cam.
The only bad thing is if people miss out on the group buy it would take months or years before that product is available..... unless the person wants to pay way more money (typically there is a 15% to 40% savings on group buys.... and the shipping/customs charges are way less )
Odds are there would be a few people who pull out of their purchases due to financial reasons..... but they can allways arrange to sell the part to someone else.
As usual.... I don't know if I have time to do this but I'd like to talk about the idea anyways to see what everyone thinks.

chris, that is a very grand idea and I hope we can definately work something out along these lines!
Like you said most of us own daewoos because we couldn't really afford anything else but hey none the less I still love my woo and am very glad to see an opprotunity presented to us for our vehicles that work out more for people on a budget!

I think the one product that is reasonably priced that most guys would want is adjustable cam gears.
They are available through multiple sources but they are all specified for "race only" because they do not have the steel timing marks inside the pulley.
This becomes a problem because the factory ECU uses the cam shaft sensor for timing purposes and it would be quite unhappy if removed.
With the "race" applications they are usually using aftermarket management systems for timing of injection and ignition...... so they either use an aftermarket trigger system or information from the crank sensor.
needless to say this is the reason 360 Dynamics did not bring them to market.
I feel it should be possible to modify the cam shaft sensor to work off a different signal ( such as the crank shaft sensor or an optical encoder ), but it will require some testing to see what is required electronics wise.
Ideally it would be nice to be able to design a system that allows seperate modification of both valve timing (cam shaft orientation) and ignition timing.
I'm sure that ignition timing and cam shaft timing changes will allow for significant gains in power when tuned on a dyno.
Unfortunatly I would need a Lanos/Aveo with a 1.6L to do the testing on the dyno to reveal the best modifications.

I figured you'd say that.... you are very close as well..... and that is why I kept bugging you to see if you wanted to sell that lanos with a damaged head.DomWoo wrote:im here to help if need be
I have another Lemans... I'm tempted to get a 1.6L DOHC and throw it in there as my test bench.
Given the suspension, brakes and powertrain is nearly identical to the Lanos ..... anything that works on the Lemans should work on the Lanos.
One of these days I'm going to get back in touch with FK Northamerica and see what curent pricing is on the Coil over sets for the Lemans/Lanos.
Last time I think they were in the range of $1100 to $1500 but it's been quite a while since I discussed a distributorship with FK...... hmmm... ya.... well... I guess it's been two years..... I was discussing it with Tom when 360 Dynamics first started up... but FK has a very restrictive distributor policy and I didn't want to compete with Tom so I dropped it.
Here is the site... http://www.fknorthamerica.com/
here is the info on the two types of coilovers they carry....

Here is the info on the Opel Kadett E (AKA Lanos)
http://www.fknorthamerica.com/downloads ... 37-039.pdf
The Lanos is a little heavier than the standard Astra 2 (kadett E).... but it's just a matter of matching up the correct version of Astra as the different styles have different weights.

They are also showing a couple different types of strut braces..... here is a picture of the "expensive"one..... the Kadett E and Lanos have the same strut mounts but they have different throttle body locations and some of the fluid resevoirs are located in different places.... if I get one for my Kadett (Lemans) I could try it on a Lanos to see if it clears all the resevoirs and throttle body.
