Hey guys I wanna put a roof scoop on my car I already have a hood scoop,

what do you guys think?

I can get a black one then painted to color match my car or I can go with a carbon fiber.

Will it be a working, functional roof scoop, or just a stick-on piece of rice?

If it is not functional, then all it does is add unnecessary weight and give people something to laugh about because you are trying to make the car look like it has something that it does not. :)

As much as it is completely valid for you to express your opinion that if it isn't fully functional that people would or should laugh at it. I completely disagree.

Your car is your car. If one of the styles you would like to have or always wanted to have is a roof scoop, I say go for it. Sure, there are purists out there like Oz up there, but really it all comes down to what will make you happy (not an attempt to impress or avoid ridicule). On your car, I would almost go with the carbon fiber since it will match well with your dark hood. Functional or not, I say do what you want with your car and ignore those who would try to rain on your parade.

i know it looks bad on the lanos sinply because it doesn't follow the roofline well enough. if it went all teh way to the back glass (like a lotus scoop) then it would be good. ask the shop if you can put it on your car and get some pics to look at and show us so we can think about. the view that i was most displeased with was the side view of the car

Since your asked we we think, my opinion is "dont do it." But thats just my opinion. Maybe thats the style where you're from. Hell, it's kinda the style where im from. However, i think cars look great clean, with as little crap on them as possible. just low and clean.

Again, thats what I think. Do what makes you happy. If everyone were like me, this would be an ugly, boring world. :D

Do what you want, but here, something like that is considered rice. So rice that even ricers don't have them in their cars.

I'm not willing to offend but that's what I think about it.

+1 This is personally not my style. Dont get me wrong...these are super cool on rally cars, and were an eye candy before the first 2F2F. But after that movie, everyone started having one, so the special touch has been lost. Even now, some will think in no time "2F2f copycat". But than again, not everyone like the Cosworth-style spoiler on my GSI, but yet I refuse to remove it. Do what makes you happy.
