without an amp you won't get any bass. plus you would have to splice into the back speakers to have them work. if you want atleast a little bass i recommend to get like a jensen 200watt amp. its not the best amp but it'll do for what you want. plus its relatively cheap.

its not all about rear speakers! Like if u put it to the amp then the high sounds will be realy low unless u go with the amp that has 4 outs! So if u connect the front also to the amp than ok! but just the rear speakers on amp and front thrue the radio (40-50w) per out then the sound sucks! I made that mistake and now i dont need amp cuz i have good speakers!
For good sound whit out amp remove the stock speakers! thats all u realy need for less money and pain ;)

I have 90 watts RMS per channel on my front speakers and removed my back speakers and it sounds great!

I think that back speakers ruin the imaging of a good sound stage in the front of your car; however a subwoofer used in the back to fill in the sound spectrum is great and it does not have make the music boom. Good bass (not over powering) completes the full audio spectrum and makes the music sound the way it is supposed to.

I have a clarion 200 watt head unit in the front, 2 sony 6 inch 170 watt in the front doors and 2 sony 400 watt 6 by 9's in the back, and what i find is the 6 by 9's are so powerful even with just my 200 watt head unit, that you cant hear the front speakers at all, so yeh i suggest you get something to make your front speakers heard more, you get more of a surround sound experience with that.
