help asap.. logical thinkers

Okay.. kicker says my ported/venter box should be
"2.5cu.ft. + port displacement/ 2.5" x 13.25" port, 16.5" long"

Now i think they're saying that the boxs internal cubic ft needs to be 2.5 NOT including port displacment.. but including the displacment of the sub, corner braces, and various other things. But my Dad doesnt. What do you guys think? I really need to know as the port takes up almost a half cubic foot.

In other words... i think they're saying before you add in the displacment of the port it should be 2.5 cu ft per sub... so once you add that in it'll be more like 2 cu ft

Something else they said later in the articles starting to give me doubts.. ahh damn.

I think im gonna have to go w/ the smaller ported box desgin..
