I went over to the local dealers here in Kingston and had a chat with the owner. I asked him how soon we would be seeing the Kalos and the Magnus, etc and he duly informed me that he no longer had the agency for Daewoo. Matter of fact no one does right now...at least not for the cars. He said he was in talks with GM about retaining the agency but said it was doubtful. GM has a dealership here where they sell Brazillian-built Chevys (pretty much European-type models....the newer Astra, Corsa, etc...same engines as ours though, for the most part), US-spec cars like the Cavalier, the Malibu, etc and the trucks (Escalades are pretty strong sellers). So really it may be in GM's best interest to turn over sales to them. Oh well...
