what difference does it make to gap the spark plug tight or wide?
i mean i got a 1.5 SOHC and my spark plug gap rating is 0.7-0.8 mm so how differen will it to set my spark plugs at 0.7 or 0.8? will that affect performance at all? and if it does in what way?

I think the gap depend on the electrical current .You can test that in your car by thr battery. Some cars use a 40A battery ,some use 50A battery. & so on. you can use the small gap spark plugs with any car but you cant use the bigger gap with a small electrical current cars. the 0.8 sparl plug will burn the fuel faster and better. I dont know the true equation for choosing a spark plug . I tried to raise my car current . but somebody in the agancy told me that will damage the ECU.
that is all I know about that

the purpose of gapping the spark plug is just for the jumpping of the spark from one electrode to the other. as compression rises in the combustion chamber, the air and fuel mixture becomes denser and the more dense the mixture the harder it is for the spark to jump electrode. you will either need to increase the electrical input or reduce the distance between electrods(hence gapping). turbocharged cars the most need an increase in spark and reduced gapping.
got drift?
so basicly you go for the biggest gap you can have where your ignition system can produce a helathy spark under your sepacific compression conditions.
in other words: if you got a MDS (or whatever the thing is called) ignition kit on your car you should get a bigger gapping for your spark plugs to make full use of that system... right?
