Engine Problem

Post by MickeyX »

Hey guys my car recently started to sound really loud and im experiencing a great loss of power and also my engine check light came on. When I start it, it sputters and sounds like it's about to die and my engine is vibrating more than it used to. I changed my brakes the guy told me that one of my belts is very cracked but I dont remember what was the name.

My guess.

1. Big vacuum leak

2. Shot plugs/wires/coil. (Check to see if you smell gas fumes out of the exhaust)

I doubt it can be anything too serious.

you can't see your timing belt during a pad change so it has to be the alternator or A/C belt... nither of them will cause what you discribed.

it could be bad injectors or MAP sensor, get the car scanned to see the DTC you got and check all your vacuum lines specially the one for the MAP sensor.

if your spark plugs are older than 20,000 Kms then replace them, same goes for air, fuel filter if older than 40,000 Kms.

pop the hood at night with the engine running, if you see sparks jumping all arround the spark plug cables then you need a new set of cables.
