I've never heard of water pump lube, I've heard of products like Water Wetter that are supposed to help running temperature - but I don't think that's what your talking about.

no thats not it... i am talking about products that are added to the coolant that are supposed to lube the water pump so is that true??

the coolant i use (Mobil coolant) is a bit slick so i guess it provides lubrication to the pump assuming that it does need lubrication at all.

the product is a little bottle as big as coolant system flush products and also they clame that the product prevents rusting and deposits accumilations... starting to sound too good to be true HUH??

No, they actually help with lubrication of the spinning parts of the water pump just like oil helps lubrication of the oil pump.

Your car is safer with them than without them.

And yes, Water Wetter does also include various lubricants and wetting agents that help extend the life of the pump and improve wetting properties (more water to metal contact).
