Raced again this weekend

Post by kinkyllama »

and after only 3days racing and maybe 4k miles my front brake pads need a replacing

Well it wasnt so much a race but it was "open track". Me and what looked like a stock honda civic w/ R compounds (race tires) battled it out... well i smoked him. Only people that passed me was a 900hp corvette and a fixed up WRX. The track tempature was 174degrees when i went out for my last session and it was slick as hell. Today i need to spend some time removing rubber off the bottom of my car and in the wheels  I should start collecting all the race rubber my car collects on the track

I did very good... infact i moved up to group 3 (out of 4) in two days, but i wanted to stay in group 2 another day so i am. I need to fix my car up a little more cuz no matter how good a driver i am ill still get smoked. Lots of cars like selby cobras and track cars

Anyways i came accross some pictures of when i drove the F1 car and my gf came out and took a few pics of me racing on Sunday, unfortunitly when you press the botton to take a pic it takes it 2 secs later to actually take the picture so she couldnt get many pics. Anyways here they are:

dude you really need to re-size those pics.

you need like a 30 inch LCD to look at those pics.

but yeah try to see if the eclipse strut bar will fit your car b/c that will help soooooo much. looking really good though. wish they had some kind of track around here. they're supposed to be building a 1/8 mile track but the've been trying that for like a year and still no track. i'd rather have some kind of circuit track though.

Yeah i dont have time to resize them... actually it took me 2 days to post the pics as they were. Its finals week at school=busy busy busy.

Yeah a strut bar would be awesome.. sway bars even better. Im going to start looking into building a roll cage which stiffens things up also. Once i get a cage, strut braces, and sway bars... the only thing thats next is a turbo

yep. I dont really like the course.. its too short and the corners are a little bit hard. But still a fun track. Its hard to tell if your consistent on the corners

4k miles and pads are gone!! i guess thats the price of slotted rotors... but hey if you gotta race and kick ass then it is a small price to pay.

LOL ... the way I drive, I wear my brake pads out often with OEM rotors.
I wear out rotors, too; my Leganza needs new ones again.
I'm glad my Daewoos land well after getting all 4 wheels off the ground.  That's probably why I need new shocks already.

my pads wear was as follows using OEM rotors:
First set Daewoo OEM 13750 Miles
Second set Daewoo OEM 11560 Miles
Third set SANGSIN 5935 Miles
Forth set Daewoo OEM 4680 Miles

now i replaced my rotors and i will see how my fifth set of SANGSIN pads hold up

are you sure this is not caused by the worn out pads??

Yeah.. i noticed it after my 2nd day on the 2nd session. The pads still have alot of miles on them for the street but probably only 30-60mins track
