transmintion probems?

i have a 2001 daewoo nubira se 2.o dohc. when idleing it idles fine...when i give it a little gas the rev. limitor doesnt kick in( it kicks in at about 4500 rpms) and it goes all the way to 6000 rpms and the speedometer moves to 20 mph even though the car isnt moveing...secondly when going down the road it doesnt want to go and i have to give it alot of gas to go and it doesnt seem to want to move outa 1st gear into second.... original motor and car have 143xxx on them...i can get a new transmition for around $300 with 75xxx miles on it but wouldnt rather not have to spend alot of money...any help will be much appriciated...thanks in advance

Have the fluid flushed properly... Drain the old fluid, put in new fluid, drain new fluid and replace again... Also take off the trans fluid pan and get rid of any sludge.

Also reset the ecu and change any transmission fluid filters if applicable. Really, just give it a good service and see if it helps.
