2000 lanos 1.6 engine

i have a 2ooo lanus .i read somewhere the chevy aveo 1.6 is the same engine is this correct if so will i be able to go to the local GM dealer to get a timing belt for my lanos .

The AVEO belt should work but you should make sure that you compare the part numbers on the belt ...

You might be able to find it cheaper elsewhere... I know quite a few guys have purchased a belt in the last year... perhaps they will let you know how much they paid.
