Interchangeable parts and fuel pump

Post by muaythaikid »

Hey how's it going new here just got a few questions!

Is there any other cars apart from Daewoo lanos that has parts that will fit a lanos?

If so what would be a suitable car to take the fuel pump from for my lanos

Any help appreciated!

if it's just the fuel pump you are after it would be best to get a new one. the last time I checked, Autozone gets complete unites for around $150. if I'm not mistaken, the Nubira uses the same pump assembly as the lanos but not the Leganza.

if not I might be able to get a new one for a decent price.

the fuel pump is a very basic and common Bosch design. there are a ton of cars out there that use the pump design in a defferent housing/assembly. if you'd like I can get a Walbro pump (which is one of the best available for any car) but you will have to swap it into your stock assembly. which really is not hard to do.

as for the rest of the engine, for the most part, the Chevy Aveo up til 2010 is the same just with a different engine mount and a different fuel system.

aside from the pump, what else would you be looking for?

A buddy of mine has gotten a fuel pump but incase that doesn't work i would be lookin for a new one

Would a front bumper from a 6n polo fit a 99 lanos?

being in Ireland you should be able to get parts from Vauxhalls for your Lanos. the MK2 Astra is basically the exact same chassis. you can use all the parts in the suspension and brake system.

as for the Polo bumper, it's possible that it will be the right dimentions but definately not a straight swap. VW's being more square-nosed like most Vaux/Opel/Daewoo cars means the chances are good. as a side note, I put MK3 GTI factory bumpers on a MK2 Astra/Kadett and it fit well and looked factory. I had to cut out about 2inches out of the center and about the same out of the sides.

the lanos, leganza and nubira have the same pump
it's a 36.5mm diameter pump (some nubiras have a 38mm pump however).

the pump is an in-tank gerotor high pressure pump
(in mm)
body diam..body length..overall length..inlet diam..outlet diam..Volts..kPa..L/h..Amperes..max kPa
37............64................174..............26.0........5.0............13.5...300...123..5.8.........550
