2000 Leganza Transmission questions

Hi

I was hoping someone out there with more knowledge than me could help me.

I have a 2000 Leganza 2.2 auto (australian model) with a dead transmission. The car is just a run-about so i dont want to over capitalise on fixing it. A couple of options have presented themselves and was chasing the following info.

Are there any differences between a '98 '99 '00 '01 tranny? Is there any difference between the 2.0L and the 2.2L gear box?

Any help would be appreciated .

shouldn't be

all the auto leganzas should be the same. most 2000+ 2.2L models were auto so it would probably be easier to find than a pre-2000 model.

unless you are doing the work yourself, you could probably find a whole car for less than the cost of fixing it. I remember when I was looking for a donor car a few months ago there were 2.2L autos going for under $1500 on ebay with rego.
