Chocolate Chip finally plugged-in
Wow, what a difference. I was skeptical at first, but seriously the thing (car) is crazy now. I can spin out in 2nd gear for longer time now. The acceleration is a LOT better. I think everyone with a Lanos should try it. I will try and measure the gas milage next time I fill up the car.
Isn't it just a resistor? I experimented with resistors and found that all it did for my car was slow it down. Perhaps I was using the wrong value resistors?
Anyone know what value this resistor this is?
How much $$ is the "choco chip" anyway?

Please tell me what the difference between this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... AMEWN%3AIT
and the chocolate chip besides the obvious plastic covering on the chip?

I too have a Chocolate Chip.
There is a noticable gain in HP, but in my car, there is also a very noticable increase in fuel usage.
My car just DRINKS gas when I have the CC (Chocolate Chip) installed.
Because I have an automatic transmission that has the Power Button on the shifter handle, I plan to intigrate the power button WITH the CC so that when the button & light are not pressed and turned on, the stock AITS is used.
When the Power Button is pressed (and the Power light comes on), it will switch to using the CC so that there is an actual fuel increase and power gain.
Synopsis:
Power button off: Stock intake sensor is used
Power button on: CC is used

good idea but there is one problem with your button idea, you would have to wire it into the ecu because the button used is a momentary and the ecu changes the mode when the botton is grounded... or a 12v source is present,
here is an idea, add a button that is a push on and stay, and attatch it to the power button so that when you push power the chip button goes on with it and stays down as the power button goes back up, then when the power button is pushed again the chip button goes back up and turns off.
the idea in my head works great but taking apart the gearshift knob and putting it in would be a bitch
what is the resistance of the choco chip?

You are not thinking the same way I am.
I was not going to connect directly to the button.
With the power button, one press makes contact and the PWR light comes on in the dash cluster. One press makes contact and the light turns off.
My idea is to use the wiring behind the dash that is connected to the light itself.
When the light comes on, 12V is presant. I would connect a relay that detects the 12V signal that turns on the light, and that 12V would turn on the relay which switches the stock AITS with the CC.
When the Power button is pressed again and the PWR light turns off, the 12V is no longer presant and the relay switches back to the stock AITS.
No need to take the shift handle apart, no need to bother with connecting to the ECU.

There are almost always multiple paths to reach the same goal.KnightWalace wrote:Wow, I was only good at electronics in my Industrial Arts class, plug a wire here, make a like go on. damn, i need to freshen up on that.
Not everyone thinks the same way.
That is why everyone getting together with their ideas can result in either a really improved way to do something, or a really overly complicated, screwed up, round-about way to achieve the end result. LOL

really need to try it aswell tbh cuase atm my car has alot more power when the day isnt so hot... so either it gets to much when its hot (cuase i upped injection) or it doesnt get enhough wich i think cant be cuase it has more power when its cold anyways (alot more btw as in war weather 5k is each to do and in cold limiter is easy to do no pushing needed)
maybe this chip does what i did manualy but using it could maybe result in not having the big power difrence i got in warm vs cold weather?
But anyone know for a UK/EU store? all i saw till now was US stores :s
