Lanos Front Hub Assembly

Post by daewooluvr »

I'm looking for a new Left & Right Hub Assembly with the new bearings already pressed in for my 2000 Daewoo Lanos 1.6L Automatic w/o ABS. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Shaun

Thankfully, there is a Chevy dealer with a parts department guy who is helpful when trying to get me the parts I need for my Lanos, especially if I bring him in the Aveo part number for the part that will fit. If you cross reference the correct part and get the part number, perhaps you can find a Chevy dealer with a parts department that is willing to help. It can't hurt to try!

Yes I was just calling around for bearings. How much would hubs with bearings already pressed in run me?

you can't get them pre-pressed because there are c-clips that hold the bearings in place. the bearings have to be installed and then the hub. do you have problems with your hubs or bearings? what prices have you found?

wait, I thought the front bearings were pressed inside the hub?

My bearings are starting to go and my one hub has the disc rotor retaining screw hole all checked up so I can't use the screw.

the bearings are pressed into the steering knuckle assembly (or the knuckle can often times be heated and bearings slid in) and they are held in place with c-clips and then the hubs are pressed into the bearings.

I have a set of hubs if you want them. the bearings should be easy to find in a parts store.

yeah the bearings are about $50 each. I didn't realize that they get pressed into the steering knuckle.
