I have adjusted my idle speed controller screw before and I don't believe there is anything wrong with it provided you don't turn it in too much and have the car revving heaps all the time. You just need to remember that when you turn the A/C on (if equipped) the engine will rev higher automatically. So as long as the car is revving around the 800 - 1000 mark with the A/C on your pretty right.
