Anyone thought about raising the compression?

definitely valve clearance issues

best bet if you wanted compression that high is to get custom pistons with a lowered deck and valve seats cut in... you might be able to get way with it...

Murphy's Law applies here gentlemen. I've had too many bad experiences with other people and my 'Woo to be that relaxed. Just a matter of once (several times??) bitten, forever shy.

And another thing. With a comp ratio of 8.6:1 my Cielo requires 91 octane fuel! I can only imagine what 11:1 would require! Seeing that 90 octane's the highest we have on the street without having to go begging airplane owners a few litres, that's a mod I wouldn't hasitly do here in Jamaica.

Damn, 8.6:1 and 91 Octane? Is that stock?

Yeah, I believe 91 is the most readily available at most gas stations, but some places (A drag strip in St. Pete) carry something like 103 Octane racing fuel. Back in the day of $0.92/gallon fuel it was like 5 bucks a gallon, now, I'm gonna say it is probabally about $10 or more.

That is probabally what you will need to run if you have 11:1 pistons. Its way high for a streetable four banger and just the price of the special fuel would probabally add up to more than a turbo kit, which would make about as much power and end up costing less and using less pump fuel.

BTW, how much power could you unleash from an Aveo with 11:1 pistons?

110 octane gas at the local raceway gas station is 4.50 a gallon... it may just be because of the volume of gas sold here...

you can also get 115 leaded fuel for 6.20... i want to run that when i pull my cats off
