timing belt change gone wrong

i thought of that to. but since i went from a dead quiet engine, to ticking right after the timing belt change, i ruled it out, i also took a stethascope to the head and you can here it ticking right on the valves. you can here a higher tone if you put your ear on the oil fill cap, im guessing since its plastic it doesnt sound deaden the same as the aluminum?

so today my buddy and i did the AMSOIL engine flush, new filter and oil and no change, before that i put about 300 miles on it and nothing went away. im thinking the lifters must be weak or something,, i found a motor back when i was messing with this, when it first happend, its got 40k and is complete, so im just going to get that. since the cost of the whole thing is less than me buying a reman head.lol... so we will see maybe have a back up? or build it...lol

Just curious what grade oil are you putting in?

Also, there is a bleeding procedure which must be completed if the head is ever disassembled. Basically what you did. Once the tappet comes loose, you need to get the old oil out and reassemble the lifter. This is easier done by laying a rag on a work table and strongly tapping the lifter on the table, the tappet will pop right out.

Also very important all must be marked and reinstalled in their respective locations. As all lifters wear independently...
