well its a law in a lot of places that you can not have them on when in motion, distraction to other drivers, you could always wire them to a switch in the car...

well, as soon as ur parked up at ur carshow/carpark meet then u can switch them on. as long as ur not moving then local law shudnt have much to say about it, they mite warn you to switch it off before u get on to the road, thats all. i know quite a few people who have (some are dickheads and drive around with it lit up and wonder why they get pulled by the fuzz) but ive never heard of police giving anyone grieve for having them on whilst parked up.

as far as i know... when ur driving on public roads you should only have 4 corner lights (ie: 2 at the front and 2 at the rear, altho some cars have amber sidelights, which is permissible) except for in bad weather or foggy conditions then u can have spotlights (fog lights) on at the front and rear of the car. there should be no light shining downwards, eg: undercar lighting, or any other alternative/additional lights. so, yes, those little blue led lights people have on their window washer jets are illegal. you also cant have any lights displayed in your windows that are visible from the outside, like people who put UV lamps on their parcel shelves (most commonly found in corsas lol). i could do some research and find you the actual written law, but that may take some time.

however, once ur in a carpark or on private land you may do as u wish.

yeah, my friend, has underglow on his car, we turned it on next to a cop on the highway at a stop light and he didnt do anything, only when you are moving, you must have them off. then again I have police strobes in my headlights, that right there is a federal offense, automatic prison time right there.

BosnianLanos wrote:*Neons are legal in the US...Or at least in Florida they are. You just can't have blue ones or red ones. I see purple ones, white ones, and green ones all of the time. I also see park bench spoilers and hood scoops all the time too...doesn't mean it's a good idea.

If you're interested in making a car look fast and go...a hood scoop and spoiler will make you fail on BOTH fronts. They'll make your car look ricey, and also add ridiculous amounts of drag to the car. Weight could be a factor too. The only speeds that a spoiler would be useful at is 80+. This would push the rear of the car towards the ground, but the car's natural aerodynamic properties would push the front up (lift). In a rainstorm or a slick spot, the lack of traction could be catastrophic.

If you're interested in making the car look better. Tint the windows, lower it (Does a WORLD of good for our cars, and put on some new wheels. The car was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro...he designed for Alfa, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati...and he didn't see fit to put on spoilers and hood scoops. The car's pretty enough as-is.

and its only a federal crime if you use them for such things like pull someone over, i only have used them one time, and that was at a school car show.
