Well i was talking about ones that surround the whole strut top, not joins to the shock top, or in poarts like that. In all honesty, im not sure how strong that'd b in comparison but i'd say that'd still do something.

i think, any form of a brace connected to any two opposite or adjacent panels in a car's chassis would help in the reduction of chassis flex or some body roll, etc.

...just a thought.

Can get them off the strubracer ebay shop too. Very rare you'd find a lanos one on ebay from a private seller tbh. In the UK anyway. I always have a peak every now and then at nexia and lanos stuff. very little that isnt plain JUNK

beware of the strutbracer ebay shop, cos there they charge double postage for some reason. you shouldnt pay more than £67 incl. delivery straight from the website, where on ebay its £67, then another £7 or £8 for delivery on top of that.

you will need to drill 2 extra holes though, because the top mounting bolt holes on the strutbrace has one hole in the wrong place. this isnt much of a problem as long as u have a strong drillbit that will drill thru steel. i did break one drillbit and "unwinded" another, so it doesnt spiral, its just straight. then once thats done, you'll need one of those rubber mallets for some gentle persuasion due to the angles of the top hat bolts thru the top mounts. i just used a huge spanner for that bit.

at the end of the day... it works a treat.

around corners... YES! you really have to chuck the car in to notice what it does. before there was a lot more flex and roll around corners, but now the front end just tracks flat around corners and sharp bends etc.

ok but i think mine Suspension is a bit diff because i have a 1.6

if anything you might have the lucky one where the bolts are in the right places.

do you know what bolts i'm tlaking about here? the strut top mounts. in the chassis itself there are holes for 4 bolts, but most lanos' have 3 bolts, top, outside and bottom, where as the ones on the strutbraces have the holes at the top, outside and inside (outside being closest to the sides of the car, inside closest to the engine, top closest to the windscreen and bottom towards the front of the car.) but other than that the overall size of evrything is the exact same size no matter what year model or engine size lanos you have.

let me know if ur still a little not too sure and i'll get a close-up pic and explain it a bit more.

Your suspension will bolt up the same as Rodds, but you'd need to know if it'll clear your inlet manifold. As far as i remember they're a lot bigger on the 1.6, physical size.

thats lucky. uve got a good'un there then, cos on the strutbracer website it does say thats its for the 1.6 16v lanos. and it'll clear that intake manifold with ease.
