I don't want this to get off topic, I only showed the picture of my engine to show the spark plug plate.
The stainless line on the turbo manifold is indeed a pyrometer and the blue silicone line coming from the engine is going to an oil catch tank ( with a breather on the other side )
As far as the UK spark plug cover plates go.... they come in several different types... some are black with "ECOTEC" on them.... the ones from the UK usually have Vauxhall symbols on them.... if you want an OPEL one you might have to look over in Germany.
The prices vary greatly... but If you are patient you will eventually find the one you want for around 7 GBP.
Personally I would try and get a group buy together if you can find one EBAY guy that has a bunch of these... then the shipping can be split up... perhaps GSE or Kinky might be interested in them.
I really don't like the "Daewoo style E-Tech" covers.... the Vaux/Opel plates make the engine look good... much like the older C20XE/C20LET spark plug plates.

So we discovered that I was accidentally sent the wrong style clutch (thanks to Garrett for noticing this). He sent me a replacement without issue. Now that I have the two side by side I finally know what is the difference between them!!
It appears the actual discs of the two kits are identical.
OEM disc vs new carbon one
Pot style pressure plate now fits properly into my stock flywheel
This arrived today from Chris Astley Motorsport! I have decided to go this route for now due to the fact that my usual shop doesn't seem to be able to make time to do this whole tranny project. I have decided to go with another friend's shop who can get me in on July 14, but he doesn't want to do the custom external slave setup.
Interesting that it is a genuine Sachs unit. Hopefully it will stand up to some hard driving and heavy clutch.

Chris Asley told me it was just an F18 slave modded for the F28. Also, how did you order it? Chris Astley won't respond to me emails anymore and I wanted to make a large purchase.

Yes I remember you told me that, but i had decided to buy it anyways to guarantee a trouble free installation. I was pretty surprised when a Sachs unit showed up. I bought off ebay from them about 3 weeks ago, and everything seemed to go smoothly....... except for getting charged $70 on duty Its kinda strange, since then, it looks like they have taken it off their site........... maybe not selling it anymore.

Yes... it should be the F18 slave... but it's a Sachs (clutch manufacturer) so it should be the best one available.
I still think this is the best unit to go with.
Yea I'm happy its made by Sachs, I trust that over just an OEM unit.
Yeah its finally underway........ car went in Monday. I've been really busy with school lately so I'm not as involved as I would have liked, but I was there the first day for taking out the D20 and prepping the F28. By now the custom mounts should be close to done.
So the mount hasn't been done yet, but I have some pics of the F28 prepped.
-D20 is removed
-Hydraulic conversion installed (had to re-bend the little pipe to get it to fit properly )
-2wd conversion installed with new axle seals
-black bracket from D20 for lower mount and shift linkage installed (had to re-tap several holes)
