looks like a 1.4, 1.5 or 1.6 from around the early 90's or older. looks like it's in a German car, not a Kadett, may be Nova (if it was available there) or a Corsa.

do you have any details on the car, is this yours or a pic off the web?

aahhh, quite, I missed a couple small details in the pic...

in that case than it's a C20NE, came in the Ascona from 86-88, the C20SE and C20SEH also came in the Asona in these years but they where fuel injected.

from what I've found, it's 115hp and 130tq... not bad numbers at all (keep in mind that these numbers are at the crank and not the wheels).

You've got the last of the last of the last of the asconas. Congratulations :P rare car to come by these days.

Here's all the 2.0 that came in the Ascona C.

20NE 4 1984 85/115 Benziner OHC
C20NE 4 1984 85/115 Benziner OHC
C20NEF 4 1984 74/100 Benziner OHC
20SEH 4 1984 95/130 Benziner OHC

[Where the c20nef was the engine used for 'authorities']

Was surprised these came with a c20ne, or c20nef.

If you need help deriving what each letter in the engine code means, heres a list.

Judging by the intake, it looks like it's on carbs, but all those engine codes suggest it never came with carbs, they're all fuel injected engines. Does yours have carbs?

If not, i'd be inclined to thinking it was a 20ne.

HHMMM :? where did you get your info from, mine seams to be a bit off. I though 115/130 seamed a bit high for a non-fuel injected motor but that's what was listed. 85/115 seams more accurate.

cheers,

This forum, http://www.modifiyem.com/forum/f175/ope ... ari-46954/.

I dont get it though, from his extremely small pic, it looks like it's got a carb, judging by the lack of a fuel rail and that mad intake setup, aswell as the see through fuel filter on the bulkhead if thats what it is, pics so small :(. But the Ascona C [which is the 88' one] never came with a carbed 2.0 engine. Hence all the 'e's in the codes at the end.

Is it definatly a 2.0?

The rocker cover looks like a 2.0 one. But if it's the original engine, it might be the 1.8 carbed version.

which is one of these:

E18NV 4 1771 62/84 Benziner OHC
S18NV 4 1771 Benziner OHC

roughly around 80-90bhp both engines.

It wouldn't be any of these from the Ascona B's,

20N 4 1956 66/90 Benziner CIH
20S 4 1956 74/100 Benziner CIH
20E 4 1956 81/110 Benziner CIH

Because they're not an OHC engine. WHich yous is. And thats all the 2.0s that came in the asconas.

It will say on the engine ya know, behind the disptick or along the park of the block that the gearbox bolts to at the front of the engine. Along the flat surface at the front. It's on a horizontal slope.

Check where i suggested, behind the dipstick on the block, or down the side of the block, that's a diagonal slope, it's where the gearbox meets the block at the very very front of the engine.
