The F16D3 is most likely the correct engine code as one other fellow mentioned his 1.4L as an F14D3-G
Needless to say it's the same engine as the A16DMS found in the Lanos with some minor differences.
Holden has been making this 1.6L engine since 1981 and there are piles of aftermarket parts available but nobody has really stepped up and started advertising parts for the Lanos 1.6L at this point.
In Europe the Lanos came with 1.4 and 1.5L and the Nubira came with the 1.6L.
I think it's an issue of nobody has a 1.6L kicking around that they can disassemble and inspect.
We've allready done it with a 2.0L and I should have a 2.2L by the end of the month
but I haven't had a good chance to get a 1.6L as of yet.
If I was spending money on a performance engine for my AVEO or Lanos I wouldn't bother with the 1.6L... I'd spend it on a 2.0L.... but that's me... some people might not have the money to be able to afford a swap.
..... oh and as far as ECOTEC is concerned there are big differences between the USA ECOTEC and the EUROPE ECOTEC.... they aren't the same engines.
I'm sure 1.6L parts will be coming soon...
