Component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
Potential Number Of Units Affected: 11576
Summary:
On certain passenger vehicles, the camshaft position sensor may melt resulting in a burning smell and visible smoke, which may subsequently lead to the melting of the camshaft cover and the camshaft position sensor wire harness.
Consequence:
This could possibly cause an underhood fire.
Remedy:
Dealers will replace the camshaft position sensors and install an additional fuse.
The recall is expected to begin during August 2004. Owners should contact Daewoo at 1-877-362-1234, option 6.
Notes:
Customers can also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).

You can also look at the Microsoft sight.

autos.msn.com

They list all the recalls. You can also sign up for their Auto Notifier feature and they'll e-mail if one gets issued. That's how I found out about it.

I got my recall letter a few days ago. I want to see the look on the service guys face when I bring in a 180,000 mile Daewoo, and I want to see the list of problems on it too...

LOL!

The cool thing is that the letter said that the dealer may be able to reimburse you for past expenditures regarding the camshaft sensor, if you can prove you paid and you owned the car. I know there is a few guys here that have had theirs replaced at their expense.
