Just remove all 4 x plugs and give the engine a good long crank, this should expell most of the water in the cylinders - enough anyway to restart the car. BUT FIRST - Get the water out of the intake manifold it can hold quite a lot of water LOL. Do a compression test on all 4 x cylinders before opening up the engine this should show you immediatelly if you have serious problems, - I had some water in my engine once from a BIG puddle of water - this (helped by the turbo) got into the cylinders and the rsult was 2 x bent conrods, 1 x broken piston and 1 x sleeve damaged......

First do a compression test if possible - this is a sure indication of bent valves/conrods?? If you remove the head just make sure to check for bent conrods - if you cannot remove the conrods and pistons for visual inspection at least check that they ALL come up to the full "top" position when you turn the motor. If you have a bent conrod you should see at least one or maybe two of them sittng slightly lower than the GOOD ones when the pistons turn at the top. Good luck keep us posted

Sorry for your trouble buddy - please check the conrods very carefully as well - could be bent from the "hydraulic lock" from the water inside the cylinders.
