Can you not see how the valves are different than the other cylinders? They are coated and crusted in burnt oil and coolant![/quote]
I saw the crust buildup but i thought it happened over a very short period of time which is something I haven`t seen before - do you think the buildup is because of coolant and oil - the car must have been smoking etc. for a while to build up like that???
As for the enginebay - here is a pic of mine with my engine out at the moment.......I`d say almost half the amount of pipes and wires - do we here is SA get our cars with only HALF the parts installed LOL????
Nothing is impossible....it just costs more!!!!\
No matter how much money you spent on ur car.....there will always be sombode FASTER!!!!
That buildup on the valves didn't happen over night................. I first noticed a bit of oil smoke a couple months ago, but didn't really think anything of it.
The build up looks bad - when you did the motor first did you redo it completely i.e. head, rings, bearings etc, or did you just buy a complete motor without opening it up and popped it into the car???

What build up??? The motor was completely 100% stock......... the motor from the factory lol.
Same with this motor I put in, nothing built on it, just stock motor.
OK so now I understand - the build up could have been there(started) even before you turboed your car. Hope you had a good look at the valves on the new motor????

Yup everything seems ok with the new motor... good compression, no burning oil or coolant, plugs are clean so far.

You can sometimes get them for under $20
Yah that does look good. I'll have a look on ebay for some if they're so cheap.
