Exhausted looking for exhaust

Post by bluesheepbrian »

Is there a way to find out what is the best exhaust for the 1.6 Lanos.
Like to figure out how to get the most HP out of the exhaust. Been reading
and found that the size of the exhaust is important, can not be no small or
to big. Seen alot that I like but most I realize are not going to fit, like they
are to big. Thinking about going custom, what do I ask for if I do?
Any info?

You definately need 2.0 or 2.25. Anything more is too big.
I got 2.5 cuz of my future plans
You will just need to find a decent exhaust shop that'll bend the pipes for ya.

Also, in an N/A car, mandrel bent pipes wont make much, if any, difference over crushed bent pipes.

Wault's mandrel bent mine. They usually do great work. Full custom 2.5 all the way to a maganaflow muffler.

Is the Team SR one for both hatchback and sedan or just hatchback? I e-mailed the company and they said they didn't know, just that only people with hatchbacks bought them.

Anyone try this exhaust with a sedan? Or, an easier question, do the Hatchback and Sedan Lanos have identical exhaust systems?

Thanks,

Damir.

That is just muffler, not a whole exhaust, as he was asking about.
Did you change your whole exhaust system? If so, did you go to a local muffler shop?

Well the stock exhaust was stainless steel so I left it and just cut out the resonator and had them put a stainless steel pipe in it's place

Yes local muffler shop did it for $40 sounds great

im curantly in process of remaking my exhuast also... if i find a good bend shop... gonna use a 50mm pipe from the cat (hollowed out one whit a 55mm pipe in it) and thinking of doing a 2*25mm dual exhuast... also thinking of using 2 motto mufflers instead of car ones as they get you that special sound :)

but first i need a propper pipe bending shop :s
