Had a blip in my car yesterday, now that it's running 100%.

Scared the bejeeeeeeezuz outta me when we started it, heard this knocking i'd never heard before. Almost shitmyself thinking it was big end failure. But it wasnt. After letting the engine tick over for a few minutes, oil reached up round the head and the knocking stopped. Still pretty weird though.

Anyway, once it'd warmed up, my friend took it off the pit and I took it for a blip around the shed. Scared me in first a little lol, it's pretty quick like. Can't wait to get the GTE airbox on, once i get the pipe as it'll really quieten down the induction and make it much smoother i'd imagine.

Anyway. Apart from that, got some more tinkering done. Started tidying up the wires behind the dash for the digi dash. Noticed my handbrake light isnt working on the dash, tested it, bulbs fine, there must be a break in the wire or the switch at the handbrake is fooked. Which is annoying as it means i'll have to take out probably the 2 fornt seats and half the dash, just for a wee light :(

Apart from that, I iddnt do much else to the car. Put some anti rust stuff on the arches where they had went a bit ginger.

Over the last few days, i'd been spraying my rear lights too, heres some pics.

Spray arrived on theeeeee 27th. So i got stuck in, started cleaning the lights and put them away until the next day as it was pretty late.

So, even thoguh it was raining, the next day i took to the shed and got spraying.

As i was about to hang up one of the lights, the shoelace dropped outta my hand and the light smacked off the floor ><

The corner smashed :(

This i what it shoulda looked like..

Ah well. Happens doesnt it? Sickening thing was, i've another set of lights sitting in the boot of my car, another spare set.. and guess what, the RH side is broke in the exact same place. Gutted.

So i hung them up to dry in the shed, with a halogen heater keeping the shed nice and cosy.

And here it is, finished off.

Obviously, that's too dark. But that's ok, going too dark means i can sand it down and go lighter, so i wasn't bothered.
Here's the other one i sanded down, this is what they'll look like, only with lacquer on top to give it a nice shine.

Oh and one more thing, oil cooler ^^

Lol, there's no real point in an oil cooler on a small engine imo. I mean yeah you'll get a little benefit, but, i'm not gonna run it on my 2.0 8v, gonna wait until i've a turbo'd engine built up to slap it onto.

15 dollars over here is 7.5 GBP, and it'd only get me an 1/8th of a tank. it's about 15 GBP for a quarter tank and i dont think my tanks much bigger than your lanos one.

Stuff arrived from Astra 8VT/Screamer69 [from extreme-vaux, mig and astra-mk2] today.

More turbo goodies ^^

Image
MVaux Dual stage, rising rate adjustable fuel pressure regulator. <- What a mouthful, but sounds cool saying it.

Image
Purple injectors from an ecotec motor to help with fueling. Were running at over 1 bar. so will be good for me at 10ish psi.

Yay ^^

Ahhh lucks not in it with things like this, it's do it right the first time or blow it up lol.

ANd even if it does blow up, i'll find out why and prevent it next time. [If this does anyway it'll be due to lack of fueling lol]
