water pump compatibility

Can somebody confirm if I can use the water pump of a Lanos in my 1.6DOHC A16DMS Nubira (Europe). Except for a additional protective plate they look identical. Do I need to remove this plate?

Lanos 96352649 w/p.

the waater pump for an A16DMS doesn't fit an A15SMS... i recon the 1.6 of a lanos and a nubira is an A16DMS so it will fit with no problems
