Shorter shocks don't lower your car m8. They stop the shocks from travelling too far downward, so that your springs never have any chance of falling out lol. [the ones on the rear anyway, obviously front oens can't come out].

is getting your springs re-set an option?
I know some suspension shops can lower springs without affecting rebound rates the same way cutting does...
I think they heat them and then compress them. Probably the cheapest option other than cutting...

heating them is even more out of the question, that kills the spring. i didnt think that shorter shocks would help any but ive never had any esperiance with them so i didnt know. thanks for clearing that up for me.

I've shortened shocks in mine. They just don't travel as far, like, this is the easiest way for me to describe it, jacking the car up at the back, you see the shock traveling until it lifts the tyre off the ground, well, with smaller lowering springs, a normal shocks gonna travel the same distance, and with a smaller spring it could fall out of the spring bed. [in extreme cases like, 60mm+ lowering springs]

Heating and compressing springs is worse than cutting them lol. Cutting them doesnt affect they're tensile strength [to an extent, obviously, with the way they're shaped, with more coils at the bottom tighter packed, if you hack 3/4 of them out it might as it's applying stress on places it might not ave as much before] as bad as heating it would. They'd fracture or snap a whole lot easier doing that.

It's pretty much half atm. 1 dollar = around 50p, 100p=1 quid [GBP]

SO 24 quid [GBP] is around 50 dollars
