That part about economy was meant for Ken_86gt as that is the reason why he wants to change the FDR

Sorry. I seldom come to forum recently. Real busy with my work. So never noticed your question.

The 4.176 final drive is abt $400+ us dollar. I calculated wrongly. Becos the exchange rate change quite a lot recently. I calculated based on old rates. Bought it from Korea through a korea friend. Waiting for the stocks to arrive to Singapore now. Once I got the part number I will let you know. I also duno whether its a standard GM parts or its aftermarket part. If its aftermarket, there will not be any GM part number.

I have just gotten my final drive ratio kit. Its only consist of2 piece. One piece of long rod with a small gear on it and another piece of huge gear. It stated 4.591 ratio. Thats a huge difference from my 3.944. How to determine the final drive ratio from inspection to confirm its 4.591?

Now hopping to try to get a workshop to fix it into my drive. And see the result.

The box actually does not tally with the items inside. Its a 4.176 final drive. Still waiting for the flywheel and clutch before I fix them in. The labour to fix the final drive, flywheel and clutch here in sinagpore is abt $200 + 2 days waiting. So wait for everything to arrive before I one shot fix them in.

The total damage is more than $400US to reach Singapore. Costed me $600+US including shipping and the inter bank telegraphic fund transfer charges.

I have got these into my Aveo installed. Now my low end improves, no more draggy 2nd gear and 3rd gear. Posted a video on utube with lighten flywheel. Will post an acceleration video after I run in the engine to show the rpm climb improvement.

The FC do not seems to change although crusing rpm at 100km/h increase slightly from 2.8k to 2.85k. Maybe due to less dragging needed.

Anyone knows how the speedo collect the speed data from the car? Mine speedo seems to be running lesser than actual speed. I was driving beside a civic (same speed for 30 seconds). Mine speedo is 80km/h constant while his is 87km/h. His is digital speedo, so very big numbers can see from beside him.

My wheels are 205/40/ZR17. Stock size is 155/80/R13.

How does the wheel size and final drive kit affect the speedo accuracy?
