Drill a 5/32" dia hole at one end of a piece of wood of 1/4"x 1/2"x 10".
Engage a 5/32"x 4" nail in the hole.
Get this tool through the grille and the nail in the lock.
With a large screwdriver push the 5/32" nail against the release lever.
Test it before the cable break .
Hood opened for clarity.
The goal!

My damn cable has broke twice! So this could be usefull to me someday. Luckily both times it broke we found out as we put it on a lift so it was an easy fix.
