exhaust flanges

Post by gse_turbo »

are the flanges at both sides of the cat-con the same? I know the 2.0 cat and 1.6 cats have different flanges.

I'll have 2.0" and 2.5" flanges available for the 1.6 and 2.0 but I made the flanges from the manifolds and i need to know if the other side of the is the same for each motor.

thanks, Garrett

thanks

...so that brings up a good question, if this flange was available at the time would it have salved the problem or did you need the other flange. ...basically, in you experiance is this a waste of time or can you see the use in it.

also what tubing size did you use? do you think 3.0" should be done too?

Which CAT are you asking about?

I don't think my lanos has either though...

I was actually going to ask you in about 6 weeks about that for the forenza.

Okay yes I still have the first one but I don't have time to get at it right now. As for the forenza the two flanges for the first CAT are different

:( any pics? have an old gasket or anything? I might need you to make a template for me, I'll PM you with how I would need it if there is no gasket.

They don't have gaskets. I have two pre CATS and I have test pipes as well for the forenza so I could get a template or whatever. I'm hoping to have the lanos 1.6 pulled out this week so Id have the pre-cat for the 1.6

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by this, what problem? My original setup incorporated both stock cats. One end of the cat still had the original flange, and one end was re flanged to a V band. I have pictures if you want.

I think 2.0 , 2.25 , 2.5" would be perfect. I doubt anyone who is making enough power for 3.0" is going to try to use the stock cats.
