I have audio-electro problem...HELP

Post by tarek6210 »

1st of all i have a 2007 Daewoo Lanos "almost brand New" i installed:

1- Kenwood 800w KAC-8403 amp generating 360wRMS 40amp 4 channels connected to one pioneer sub woofer 1200w "400RMS"
and 2 pioneer coaxial 400w speakers

2-have VARTA 2 years old batt 62amp

3-added the grounding kit

the problem is: after audio sound system installation when the car starts every thing is more than fine and the sound is great and the bass is deep
but when the amp gets hot as the car do...fans start to work the sound dropes and goes ups and downs
and even the amp lights starts to dim a littel bit specialy when the bass beates and hits

all matter is the sound quality and i do suspect some points...

1st...my varta batt is dieing and need to be replaced
2nd..the Kenwood amp wiring is poor and to be replaced with a 8gaug or more "according to the amp manual"
3rd...do i need a "capacitor" ? will it solve the prob? and the only one is neer to me is a 2farad "boss" capacitor

note: i had a kenwood 500w amp before and was very stable 280w rms 25amp no ups and downs or any prob on the same system

plz help me and if any ony specify a solution plz tell my why
Love the forum

Get a 'capacitor'. Or a 'Powercap' as it's sometimes called.

What it does is, it holds a charge for when it drains, then it feeds more power. Surprising, just like a capacitor.

Other than that, where're your grounds onto? Did you clean the surface? What guage of wire are ya using?

Getting a powercap and some better earths, aswell as upgrading the wires in the actual soundsytem should do the trick. Also, try getting a fan for your amp, most amps come with fins on the top, not to look cool, but to dissapate heat. So, a fan at the side, blowing through these fins would help substnatially. Doing this without having a shitty looking fan sticking out is hard though, so try and make a wee case or something for it.

What ohms is that wattage or what is your max wattage?

I capacitor would help... but if you're doing allot of city driving or your stereo has allot of wattage it won't be enough.

I recommend optima batterys. Get one of those, check all you're grounds and if the problem isn't completly gone then get the CAP

800w max?

I'd check your wiring...it really should cause much problems. A CAP should work well for that too.

caps are crap. they unload in like .2 seconds and then they take power to rechard them, they are a bandaid that just sort of hides the real porblem. make sure you have good (bare metal, no paint) grounds at the battery and amp make sure your battery is fine, and make sure your power wire for the amp is thick enough. i had 2 mtx thunder 5500 12''s in my woo with over 1400 watts RMS running through the box and the front speakers, and my lights didnt dim THAT bad (considering). your issue sounds like bad grounds and thin power wire.

2nd test the bat and replace it if needed by brand new "but how many amps?? plz tell 55 or 62 or 70......etc?"

if you get a bigger battery than stock its not gonna hurt any thing, it will only supply more power to your car, which is a good thing.
my optima yellow top

that supplied enough power to set off car alarms from a half a block away so if you can get similar specs you should be good.

Wow how thin was your old wiring?? 8 gauge is pretty small for most amplifiers already!

Usually with problems like that it's either:
-Wiring
-Battery
-Alternator.

It's lucky you had the cheapest problem to fix...

people people.......

i was busy for a while....tommorow is the big day

i'll install OPTIMA yellow top batt !!!

i made the grounding first and what improved is the car operations

then i upgraded the amp wire and it's 16mm "bigger than any other in the market and the sound improved twice

my only hope is tommorow's batt will it improve anything or prevent sound drop

today will be OPTIMA's day
