Lanos wheel hub removal

Post by J_Elliott »

Hi,

I am trying to replace the right front wheel hub on my 2001 1.5 lanos, but am unable to remove the hub. It looks like it should just slide out of the wheel bearing, but no amount of force (using a gear puller) will get it to come off.

Any ideas, suggestions? The part I am trying to replace is marked in the picture as '5'

I would remove the retainer ring and slide out the bearing and hub together, but the hub is blocking the outside retainer ring.

Cheers,
Jeremy

btw - if anyone ever needs the lanos service manual in pdf - just email me

it has to be pressed out. when you do that you will destody the bearing, a new bering is needed. why do you need a new hub?

Hi,

ok - pressed out, makes sense, but is there a special tool to do this?

I have to replace the hub because I broke off a lug bolt in the hub and then proceeded to destroy the threads when trying to drill it out

FUN, lots of FUN
