its like GTi... but i think VW copyrighted that so people (car manufacturers) started playing around with letters...
so now there are stuff like gsi, vti, vtr, vts, gts, gtr, gtir, gt, etc... im sure some of them actually have a meaning as an abbreviation, but lots of cars have them just as letters to indicate what trim/engine the car model is.
one that i read about ages ago said this:
GT: Grand Touring
GTi: Grand Touring Injection
Si: Sports Injection
VXR: Vauxhall racing (?)
GLS: Grand Luxe Sport
VTI: Vtec Injection
other (non-sporty) ones are:
GL: Grand Luxe
SE: Special Edition
LE: Luxe/Limited Edition
Vauxhall/Opel ones include:
GSi, SRi & SXi... which seems to have had no/little meaning.
I could hazard a guess, and say:
GSi: Grand Sport Injection
SRi: Sports Racing Injection
SXi: Sport eXtra Injection
If anyone can correct me on any of these, please do, but be sure you know exactly what they mean.

Cargo cultism is a beautiful thing as long as you never fall for it.
yeah, i'd imagine GSE would be something along the lines of Grand Sports Edition... or Grand Special edition... you get the idea.
[edit]
most of the letters follow these naming conventions:
i: injection
g: grand(e)
s: sport(s)/special, double s (ie: ss): super sport(s)
e: edition
r: racing
l: lux(e)/limited
t: touring/tourer (a secondary 't' would usually mean 'turbo')
x: extra/uprated trim (generally only used by GM)
