valve cover leaking through the seal under the nut

Post by azazel19 »

I got my valve cover gasket changed out today and everything is fine except that i now have a leak under one of the nuts that hold the cover down. it looks like the rubber seal is missing. i looked for the part on gmcarparts but couldn't find it. what is it called and how do i get it or another alternative.

Hi Azazel19
I am taking a guess that you have a DOHC engine as pictures I can see of the SOHC dont have washers under the bolts that hold the cover.
I have the following 2 part numbers for the same item 5 shown in the picture.
WASHER-SEALING
96144569 Qty 11
O 96352732 Qty 11

You might be better to take one of the other washers to a parts store or parts recycler and see if they have any spares.
Good Luck
