Rich????
Ok I'm running too rich. I run 87octane fuel. I have no computer mods ie choclate chip. If you need pics of my engine it is in the leganza gallery. What might be the problem? What can I do?
Thanks

My Leganza runs too rich, also.
I do not think the plugs have anything to do with that.
The OEM stock plugs that came in my Leganza were Bosch Super two tip.
I replaced them with Bosch Platinum single tip and I don't really notice any differance.
I wish I knew how to make my Leganza run a little more lean.

Ok guys I figured it out and now I have fixed it. I am using a fuel boss. the magnetics in it must have triggered more fuel dump. When i took it off my fuel mixture was perfect. The people at jcw said i must of put it to close to a sensor. Are there any sensors close to the fuel rail???? if so where and what are they???

OHHH ... LMAO!!!!
That Fuel Boss is that magnetic thing I mentioned before that is absolutly useless when we were discussing the Turbonador intake air spinner bent beer can thing.
There have been many, many tests done with it by the federal government, car & driver, consumer reports, and the better business buearu fraud investigation center that show it does nothing what so ever to your fuel. Anything you notice is imagined just because you put something on your fuel line and believe it is working.
The theory behind that thing working is the magnets are pressed against the fuel line and align the ions in the fuel to make it more efficient. It does no such thing and is a waste of money.
I sure hope you didn't really waste your money one of these!

Is anyone elses Leganza running rich??? Is there any way to fix it. Can I run High octance gas through to clean spark plugs and my O2 sensors?? Or how can I adjust fuel pressure?? Also what are the negative effects of running a little rich?? A little black smoke comes out when I accelerate hard and sometimes on start up. Someone please help me.
Thanks

Well, your question was answered, and it is the solution to both our Leganzas running rich.asam wrote:Is anyone elses Leganza running rich??? Is there any way to fix it. The Apexi S-AFC is a fully controllable and programmable electronic Air/Fuel mixture computer which I may have to get because it does exactly what I have been looking for to make my car run more efficiently.richardmatalon wrote:buy a fuel computer like a field sfc or an apexi s-afc . I did and am still tuning it in my nubira. It really makes adifference. both in power and also gas milage. Especailly with the high gas prices now, it is a good investment and can be use d in so many ways
This is not a gimmick or a simple plug in resistor type fuel management product.
You can read more about it here:

It's height: 52mm (2.04 inches), I would most likely intigrate it into my dash in the pocket space below my single DIN CD player. Having an air/fuel computer below the radio would not only be a good place to mount it, but also look good under the dash.

Oz I got some more info on this topic. Want to help me with this???
Fuel evaporative emission systems are another simple reason many engines run rich. This is another one that drives me nuts. Don?t make your job any harder than it already is! Eliminate the easy stuff first. Many of these systems suffered from high failure rates at higher mileage. Diagnosis is simple, just disconnect the evaporative hoses and see if the rich condition improves. How many techs are checking the air filter on the bottom of GM canisters? How many techs are checking the older canister vacuum diaphragms? Some canisters are full of fuel from customers over fueling the tank or parking facing down on a steep slope. Be sure to check for this and educate customers to prevent future problems.
Ok I have been parking on hills lately. May this be on of the problems. Do you know exactly what they are talking about??

Hmmm..... I could help you out and make the ECU run leaner but I really don't have an engine to experiment on.
The solution is very simple... modifiy your O2 signal to adjust the voltage going into the ECU.
It's not something your average person could do..... it requires some special equipment.... the O2 sensor is very very sensitive to loading.
The S-AFC can modify the O2 sensor info and make the ECU react just the way I mentioned above.... but it's hard to say if the S-AFC will work with this engine.... I don't know which brand & model of sensors the Daewoo uses ( hopefully I will track this down soon)
I can do all this for a couple of bucks..... where as a S-AFC is a pile more money.
How exactly do you know it's running rich.... have you had it on a wide band O2 sensor while running on a dyno??
The main reason I won't get into how to change the O2 sensor voltage is that it would be very easy to make it go way too lean and blow your engine.
This is of course not a good thing and you'd probably want to sue me (even though you don't really know who I am)
Sorry... I have to cover my own ass on this one.
Hopefully I will have a piggy back unit specificly designed for the Daewoo/Opel engines within a year or so.... but it depends on how much spare time I get
