Leganza engine swap

Post by DAEWOOLeganza »

im sorry i looked thru the forums but i didnt see it mostly you guys have info for nexia lanos ect. ummm what would be a good engine swap for 2.2 L DOHC 1999 leganza CDX? as I plan on going turbo in the near future.

ied like to find something soon tho, as i work at a nissan dealership and everyone here is pressuring me to go 240sx turbo... and i want to prove to them that my leganza can be a good car. i have seen in other posts the stuff i would need to turbo but i just want to know whats best engine.

the 2.2 is a solid motor to start with and a swap is NOT needed. where are you getting you parts for the turbo build? check out my site, it's still being worked on a bit but you can see what is available for the 2.0 ans 2.2.

Cheers,
Garrett

Thats another thing i wanted to ask, where is a good place in SoCal to purchase turbo components for my Woo... i do like the stuff on your site but you obviously dont have everything i need there. ill get what i can from you to support a fellow Woo guy, but if anyone has the time can you make a list of stuff i would need and places and prices for it?

like I try to tell everyone who is turboing a car, find a shop that is certified in rebuilding Garrett turbos and buy a newly rebuilt turbo. this way you will get a like new turbo for quite a bit less than the price of a new one and you will get a warrenty. DO NOT buy turbo parts from ebay.

I don't have them listed right now but you can get the intercoolers from me as well so the all you'll need to source is the turbo, boost tubes, down pipe and a shop to do the custom header (if ours isn't ready soon enough). one option for the turbo manifold is Boshart Motorsports (b-moto.com), they have a cast manifold listed for the Suzuki Forenza but it's the same for the Laganza.

if you want to go turbo than you would be better off buying most of the parts and turning your car over to a shop that will be able to fab up all the tubing and the oil and water feeds (get a water cooled turbo)
