Well i'm drawing closer yo having my wheels right back to the metal and the refurbing is nearly done, does anyone have experience with spraying wheel and can you give a fella some tips?
I don't mind it looking dull, they're going a dark silver so... Not really fussed about that. I just want them to keep for a long time. DOn't want to have to sit down and do this all again half a year to a year down the road. Know what i mean?
If i'm gonna do it now, i'm gonna do it right. These wheels are getting harder and harder to come by aswell, so having a clean set would be nice.
okay well i know that laquer will eat away at the paint. thats why the mirror finish being dull afterwards is b/c they probably just wiped it really quick.
what you really wanna use to make sure your paint sticks is right before you paint it wipe it with wax and grease remover. do it in small sections. wet one rag with the remover do like 1/4 a door then wipe with a dry rag (don't let the remover dry on its one or the dirt just goes right back on the surface) just do small sections at a time.
after that take a tack rag to get like dust particles off of it. i recommend to use a tack rag when the base coat dries completely and before clear.
