Quick note on Aveo rods
I was looking through the spec sheets for my new project and came across a rather pleasant suprise... The rods in the Aveo (presumably Lanos as well) are forged. This accounts for the turbo 1.6L running high boost that's around here.
Check the GM site about it...

Click the spec sheet in the Aveo line (it's the SS)
Who knew?

I'm gonna grab a set next time at at the shop (things are hectic in a move currently) and throw it on a rockwell machine and see...
There isn't a good enough indication by just looking at them... they look to have a high surface roughness (cast) but have split mould lines (as in forged)... we'll see soon

Nice find Audacity. Too bad they don't have list the same specs for the 2.0 DOHC Also most of the transmission specs were missing from their sheet for the D16, especially the interesting figures like "Maximum engine torque" and "Maximum gearbox torque".
