Gas prices: How much near you?

In Smithfield, Virginia, where I usually fill my car, it is $1.69 for regular 87 octane, $1.79 for mid grade 89 octane and $1.79 for Premium 93 octane.

I have seen it as cheap as $1.66 in Chester, Virginia, but I do not fill up there often.

What are the prices near you?

In Manchester, CT, The gas prices are , $1.89 for regular 87 octane, $1.99 for mid grade 89 octane and $2.12 for Premium 93 octane.

1.80 -1.88 for regular right now.

same prices around Lancaster PA, of course it costs ALOT more in the city but I don't go there...

In New Milford, CT it is $1.91.9 per galon. Just measured my gas mileage (highway miles), and it came out to be 33mpg with all my settings except the choco chip!!

Today in Petersburg, VA I saw $1.65, $1.75 and $185.

That is what it averages up here in Southern Maine.

I've seen it as low as 1.62 here in Richmond, VA, which means it's probably around 1.55 at its cheapest in Petersburg.

I don't commute down there any longer so I can't be sure, but it's usually a difference of 5-7 cents.

Several times a week, I am everywhere between Richmond, Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Chester, Hopewell, Williamsburg, Newport News, Hampton, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesepeake, Suffolk, Smithfield, Surry, Prince George and every other week I drive down I-85 to South Hill and then west out to Clarksville ... so I see a LOT of different gas prices.

Wow .. thats about 1/3 of the state! LOL ... no wonder I put so many miles on my cars and have to fill the tank so often.

I haven't seen anything less than $1.63 within the last week.

hmmm.... it's about 0.799 Canadian per liter.

So that's about $0.615 USD per liter... and there are 3.7854 liters per US Gallon.

So I pay about $2.33 per gallon for 87 octane

We have heavy taxes on our gasoline.... without taxes it would probably be something like $1.30 to $1.50 per gallon.

The stupid thing is that we probably produce half of north america's gasoline right here in Edmonton.

All the big oil companies have at least one big refinery here..... but half the time our prices are higher than other places that get their gasoline from here!!!

Most people don't realize that we have several huge oil sand/shale deposits up north which are larger than all the reserves of all the OPEC nations combined.

I can't remember the exact figure but they estimate that the oil up there is enough to supply Canada and the USA for the next 235 years with the current growth trends in oil useage.

Problem is that it costs quite a bit more to extract and refine compared to the crude oil that comes from the middle east ( $4 vs $15 ) so they only go into heavy production when the price of oil is high (like it is now)
