It's stupid to put honda engine because it has engine on different side. It's too complicated, while you have all opel's engines you can put inside to woo without any hassle...
The best engine is c20xe (2.0 16V 150HP) and it's very cheap. You have also C20LET (2.0 16V turbo 205HP)... It's harder to find, but it's pretty cheap. Or you have newer engine like Z20LET (2.0 16V turbo 200HP)...
If you want vtec by honda... Alto, I can blow up any stock honda on the market with my woo...

Or the U20SED...with $1,500 into performance mods you'll be at ~130whp & ~138ft.lbs. Not sure what the aveo has stock but it's probably around ~82whp. You can find that engine at allot of junkyards for under 1k. Where I live seams to have the best prices for them, at ~$700 for an engine w/ under 18k miles.YoYo845 wrote:I was just wondering if it was possible thats all, btw Mr g do ya know any places or sites I can find the motors you was talking bout. cause I wanna get mine fix but I also would like a lil more hp then the regural engine hp i had get

You guys keep saying there is WAYYYY more aftermarket support for the Honda..... I will agree there is practically zero in the USA but in the rest of the world the support is huge for the 1.6L and 2.0L engines.BosnianLanos wrote:Sell the Aveo and get a Honda. It'll probably be a cheaper route too, and you'll have WAYYYY more aftermarket support.
I'm gonna go wash my mouth out with soap now.
I just don't understand why people can't simply drop an email to a UK person, company or dealership and say "hi, I'd like new cams for my 1.6L ..... or hi.... I'd like to buy a factory turbo manifold for the Z16LET "
I've done it, GSiTurbo has done it..... even Efrain has done it...... I find that most companies are like "no problems mate, just let me know what method to ship it by"
I send parts out internationally on a very regular basis at our shop.... it's not rocket science.... it takes about 5 minutes to prepare the paperwork..... it's no different than shipping to the USA from Canada.
Last time I checked...... Honda doesn't have a factory built 1.6L turbo.... where as we do.
I personally think the issue is not "aftermarket support" it's simply that the UK/Europe parts are more expensive and you guys want cheap ebay crap.
You see these cheap Honda parts and think "that's what mine should cost" but in reality the decent Honda tuners don't buy that cheap ebay crap.... they go to a proper source such as your local aftermarket parts supplier and buy decent names. (and yes... I've had a number of Honda and Acura vehicles... 92 Prelude Si.... 93 Civic DX... 98 3.5RL )
Sorry.... I just get uptight when someone mentions a lack of aftermarket support..... you can buy anything you want for the 1.6L/2.0L engines...... you want a 2.0L cylinder head setup with dual valve springs and all titanium parts rated for 10,000 RPM.... ok no problem... give me the cash and I'll order it from Germany for you..... you want an off the shelf 500bhp engine.... no problem I'll phone up DMAX and have them ship out a motor. You want a better tranny? Well.... buy a gearbox from a dealer... the M32 will handle anything you can throw at it.....and there are lots of companies that make bell housing adapters for rally racing gearboxes..... and yes.... they fit both the 1.6L and 2.0L engines.
Ok...... I'll shut up now...... I don't mean to take this out on you BosnianLanos.... I just get frustrated by the fact that there are lots of guys that want to modify their Daewoos but very few of you have the money to do so.
Most "crazy fast Civics" are owned buy guys with deep pockets.... the whole "ya just throw on a turbo and away you go is bullshit" the open deck design of the honda engines makes it hard to make more than the steel block Opel/Daewoo blocks..... anyone who wants to make more than 300hp on a 1.6L Honda needs to do some serious work on the engine
Last time I checked we allready have a Lanos 1.6L DOHC from South Africa making 275whp on stock parts. (he drove with stock parts for 2 years before poor tuning resulted damage to a piston )

Cost wise... the Honda engine swap would be very expensive...... it would be far cheaper to do as Kinkyllama said and drop in a 2.0L engine into the Aveo.
Currently there is a 2.0L 8V turbo engine in an Aveo up here in Edmonton.... it was supposed to be fired up and running by last Friday but there was a bad power supply on the Megasquirt board (stupid zener diode has killed the +5V refference supply )
So..... if you want to hang on for a week or so there should be a few pics and a video of the C20GET powered Aveo.
