My cars having a problem with it cuase it's like boggging and also smelling like rich to me, what can it be?

I already changed the plugs when I overhauled the motor that was like 4k ago.

I think it's the O2 sensor cause I have an ractive air/fuel meter connected to it (yeah I know is a cheap one) but it doesn't do anything no more.

Can it be dirty and can it be cleaned or do I nead to replace it.

Thanx in advance,

O2 sensor is un cleanable... if you doubt it just disconnect it and see if the car is any better.

Its probably one of those cheap ones (no offense) that just measures the signal coming out of the stock narrowband O2 sensor. The gauge likely displays the mixture as "rich", "stoich" , or "lean" with a series of LEDs. The gauge isn't very useful except to put on a light show lol.

probably likes like this:

Thanks. So it's only a crude voltmeter like this DIY http://www.scirocco.org/tech/misc/afgauge/af.html . I believed it was a more complex circuit to accomodate the pulsatile waveform.
