I've read all the posts here, and I can't confirm if Audacity is right about Delta's IP being the same as the guy who is auctioning off the Aveo/Kalos stuff, but it would be really sad if it was true, a shameless self advertisement disguised as a pity post. Plus why did he post ALL OF THE EBAY AD PHOTOS IN HIS POSTS? It's as if he's advertising it here, oh wait he is, so that must mean he is the seller.
Anyway, the $199 is quite affordable and I would gladly buy them IF that's what it actually costs, but it doesn't. That seller doesn't fool me with the $250 shipping costs... I did a quicky calculation from the UPS website to determine shipping costs, and assuming the packages (2) combined weigh about 40lbs, and the shipping cost was about $32 with ground...
So its basically a bait and switch thing, or one of those "mail in rebate" types where they say it only costs this much, but it actually costs more. The total cost of shipping and the item is $449, subtract the "actual" shipping and it's $417, which in all honesty is pretty accurate for parts like that.
Like I said, the $199 is pretty afordable... The $449 is not as much, plus the additional cost of painting and installing (unless you do it yourself), so I don't really think calling Aveo owners "penniless" just cause they wont buy it is not that accurate...
That tactic is used all the time in eBay to make a price look better than it actually is, by lowering the actual price of the item, but raising the price of the shipping. It kinda sucks but whatever gets you more views till they find out the total price.

A second response to this thread: We've been complaining about the lack of parts is cause there IS a lack of parts available, the stuff that is available basically SUCKS! Razzi body kits? EEW! Which would explain why that company died, cause their stuff looked like shit and not enough people bought it. Almost everything else that's available is pretty much universal, and that sucks ass too.
At a recent visit to SEMA, I asked several aftermarket firms specializing in performance parts (i.e. turbochargers, superchargers, etc.) about the possibility of products for the Aveo. When I wasn't laughed at, I was told "we haven't heard a thing from Aveo people" and "the demand isn't there." The problem seems to be that Aveo owners (especially on other forums) seem all too happy to bitch and moan about the lack of performance parts.
There is demand, I'm demanding all the time, I do product research, talk to manufacturers trying to get something done. It's not that there is no demand, it's just the Aveo market is an untested market, nobody is sure that if they make products, there will be -enough- people to buy them to make any kind of profit, consider this: When the Honda Civic was remodeled a couple of years ago, before the actual car was being sold, there were already aftermarket parts for it. Why? Cause everybody knows people will buy the car, that's been proven, the Honda Civic is one of the best selling cars of all time so any manufacturer is pretty much guaranteed to be exposed to enough people to make a profit (wether they buy it or not depends on if it's good or in demand).
The Aveo on the other hand is new, it's only been in the US for what? 3, 4 years? The Civic? 15, 20 years? It's a huge difference and it will take time for parts to become available, as the car gets sold more and more. It's only a matter of time.
